What is RigSense

Terrain intelligence & rig telemetry

RigSense is the all-in-one camping companion for RVers who split their time between organized campgrounds and dispersed boondocking. It follows the natural lifecycle of every trip — from dreaming about it at home to leaving the spot better than you found it.

RigSense puts two things in one app: where you camp, and how your rig is doing.

Your phone is the hub. RigSense on iPhone or Android reads Bluetooth sensors directly, so there's no hub or bridge to buy. Weather, map layers and account sync come through RigSense's servers.

Privacy-forward by design. Your rig data, location history, and travel patterns are yours. RigSense never sells data. There are no ads, ad networks or data brokers, no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs, and no advertising ID. Usage analytics go to RigSense's own server.

Integrations

Supported hardware

RigSense is the single pane of glass — battery, propane, water, tires, climate, and connectivity alongside trip planning and community data. Hardware integrations are included with a paid subscription.

All integrations normalize into a unified data model. The dashboard renders identically whether your battery SOC comes from Victron, Bluetooth BMS sensors, or manual entry — same gauges, same energy budget, same alerts.

Tier 1
Direct BLE
Your phone reads sensors directly over Bluetooth. Works offline, no internet or hub required.
Mopeka Propane Sensors
Pro Check, Pro Check Universal, Pro Plus (3× range). Magnetic bottom-mount. Tank level, temperature, battery.
Mopeka Water Sensors
Pro Check H2O, Pro200, TD40, TD200. RigSense shows their temperature and battery, but doesn't read a tank level from them yet.
Epoch Batteries (LiFePO4)
BLE BMS with per-cell voltage, SOC, temperature, cycle count, and protection status. Eco, Essential, Elite V2 series.
SOK Batteries (LiFePO4)
ABC-BMS protocol. Per-cell voltages, pack SOC/voltage/current, temps, and 10 protection state codes.
Generic BLE TPMS
$30–60 aftermarket sensor caps. Pressure and temperature per tire. No bridge or hub required. Recommended path for all users.
Ruuvi Tags (Environmental)
Finnish-made, open protocol (RAWv2), IP67. Assign each tag to a zone, such as Interior, Exterior, Refrigerator, Freezer or Water Bay/Basement. Temperature (±0.2°C), humidity, barometric pressure, movement, battery voltage. Broadcasts every 2.5 seconds — no pairing required. Sensors on a Cerbo GX can also be read directly over Bluetooth for faster updates.
Tier 2
Cloud & Manufacturer APIs
Connects through the maker's cloud or the device's own API.
Victron Energy
VRM REST API. SOC, solar yield, consumption, battery health, inverter, generator run time, alarm conditions.
Peplink
Local REST (30s polling). Carrier, band and signal strength, plus how many SIMs and WAN links are active.
Tier 3
Shore Power
Reads your surge protector over Bluetooth while you're plugged in.
Power Watchdog
Voltage, current and power on the shore power line.
Tier 4
Advanced Monitoring
Reads devices on your rig's local network.
Starlink
Reads from the dish's local network API — download/upload speed, latency, packet loss, obstruction data, and alerts. A 12-wedge polar compass visualizes obstruction direction.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

The fastest way on iPhone is to open this redemption link on the phone itself. It opens Apple's redeem sheet. Type your code there and RigSense Connected unlocks on your Apple Account.

From inside the iPhone app: tap any locked feature to open the paywall, then tap Have a code? Redeem it near the bottom, below the plan buttons. You can also redeem in the App Store app: tap your profile picture, then Redeem Gift Card or Code.

Codes attach to the Apple Account you're signed into, so make sure it's the right one. If the app doesn't unlock within a minute, tap Restore Purchases on the same screen.
On iPhone, your subscription lives on your Apple Account, not on the phone. On the new device, sign in with the same Apple Account, open RigSense, tap any locked feature to open the paywall, then tap Restore Purchases. The same steps work after deleting and reinstalling the app.

On Android, it lives on the Google account you paid with. Make sure Google Play on the new phone uses that Google account, and sign in to RigSense as before. Then tap any locked feature and tap Restore purchases.
The free tier includes the map explorer, solar compass, manual resource tracking, checklists, the stay timer, tire pressure and generator calculators, and one offline map region. RigSense Connected adds the community spot database, road difficulty ratings and rig compatibility badges, hardware integrations, unlimited offline maps, and the full intelligence layers (dark sky, wildlife, bug pressure, connectivity, and more). On the App Store, plans are $3.99/month or $29.99/year. Apple or Google Play bills the subscription. RV-safe routing, severe weather alerts, and the fire overlay stay free for everyone — safety is never behind the paywall.
Apple or Google Play bills RigSense Connected, so you cancel with them, not in the RigSense app. On iPhone, open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → RigSense → Cancel Subscription. On Android, open your subscriptions in Google Play, pick RigSense, then tap Cancel subscription. Either way, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. There are no partial refunds for unused time.
In the app, go to Rig tab → Settings → Account → Delete Account. You'll see a plain-language confirmation explaining what gets removed. After you confirm, there's a 7-day grace period where you can cancel by signing back in. After 7 days it can't be undone. Your account, rig profiles, stays, saved places, reviews, road reports and photos are deleted, and your Victron VRM token is deleted. Spots you added and your signal, water and crowd reports stay for other travelers. Backups holding deleted data are purged within 30 days. If you no longer have the app, ask us by email instead.
Open the Rig tab, scroll to My Setup, and tap Add Hardware (it reads Manage Hardware once you have devices). RigSense scans for nearby Bluetooth sensors for about a minute. Tap Add next to a sensor and pick its role if asked, for example which Mopeka is which propane tank. Bluetooth sensors broadcast to your iPhone, so there's no pairing step in iOS Settings. If a sensor doesn't show up, check its battery and that Bluetooth is on. Full per-brand setup notes: see Hardware Support above.
Location is the core input for almost every feature — weather at your spot, solar angle for panel tilt, nearby campgrounds and dump stations, severe weather alerts tied to where you are. "While Using" is enough for most features. Background location is used for only two things, and each needs your permission: recording a GPS trace (off until you start one) and arrival alerts for a rally or group event you've joined. You can turn it off anytime in iOS Settings, and the rest of the app works without it. Most requests send coordinates only, with no account info or personal identifier, to third-party services (weather, fire, soil data).
Open the spot, tap the menu in the top right, and tap Report Spot. Pick a reason, such as Misleading or inaccurate or Violence or dangerous, and add a note. Moderators review every report within 24 hours. For urgent problems like a spot on private land or a safety hazard, email support@rigsense.app.
RigSense is out now on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android.
Yes. RigSense for Android is on Google Play and needs Android 8.0 or later. The iPhone app is on the App Store and needs iOS 26.2 or later.
No. The core app — map explorer, solar compass, manual resource tracker, checklists, and stay timer — works with just your phone. A paid subscription unlocks hardware integrations for users who already have compatible sensors (Mopeka, Ruuvi, TPMS caps) or cloud systems (Victron, Peplink).
Any rig type — motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, campervans, and overland vehicles. During setup, you configure your rig profile (dimensions, tank sizes, power system, drivetrain) so the app gives accurate compatibility ratings and route analysis for your specific rig.
Campground — a managed facility with numbered sites, hookups, and amenities. The built-in directory covers 5,500+ federal campgrounds from Recreation.gov. Sites are reservable, have defined pad dimensions, and come with amenities like restrooms and showers.

Spot — a dispersed/boondocking location with GPS coordinates and community intel. BLM land, National Forest roads, Walmart overnights, Harvest Host locations. Free or small permit fee, no infrastructure, 14-day stay limits typical.
TireMinder works through its TM-Blue22 Bluetooth adapter, and RigSense shows each sensor's pressure, plus temperature when the sensor sends it. Matching sensors to wheel positions is still being built. Lippert TireLinc isn't supported. Generic Bluetooth TPMS caps ($30–60 on Amazon) connect straight to your iPhone with no adapter.
For boondocking spots, RigSense estimates days you can stay based on your rig profile — battery capacity, solar production forecast, water tank size, propane supply, and waste tank capacity. Boondock Time watches energy, water, propane, grey/black tanks, and your legal stay limit, then surfaces which one runs out first before you commit to a spot. With connected sensors, it starts from your live tank and battery levels instead of ones you type in. It learns your usage from the stays you finish, and the confidence label shows how much it has learned.
Partially. BLE sensors (Mopeka, Ruuvi, Epoch, SOK, generic TPMS) work entirely offline: your phone reads them directly. Offline map caching lets you pre-download a region before heading out (one region free, unlimited on paid). Victron VRM needs an internet connection. A Peplink router is read over its local network, so it doesn't.
RigSense never sells data. There are no ads, ad networks or data brokers, no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs, and no advertising ID. Usage analytics go to RigSense's own server. Community contributions (spot reviews, signal reports) are voluntary.
Get it on the App Store for iPhone or on Google Play for Android. The store buttons on the home page go to the same places. If you run into issues, email support@rigsense.app.
